PROGRAM NOTES
In Boundless I try to reflect the sensation of boundlessness and freedom I feel watching the steel blue, sometimes almost black North sea rising and falling, with nothing but more sea on the horizon. Sometimes it feels so vast that it is unsettling, but most often it feels comforting to have that open space before you. It lets the mind wander, and for a nostalgic, there is no better place to reminisce. Boundless is meant to sound like a melody carried on the wind above the water, and it is inspired by the folk music from the North west of Norway.
I live in a region of Norway with tall mountains, lots of forests and the Atlantic Ocean roaring a stone's throw away from my house. Much of the landscape around me has probably felt, looked, and sounded much the same for thousands of years. Major changes happen too slowly for us to perceive, so to us it feels timeless. Being in nature can feel like slowing down time... Timeless is my attempt at capturing this feeling of being "outside time."
